Data from the Atmosphere and Beyond
NCAR fosters scientific research by providing the scientific community with timely, easy-to-access data collections. Data sets include information collected from research facilities and tools, as well as information from climate and weather models created and compiled by NCAR scientists and those in our science community.
CISL, NCAR’s Computational and Information System Laboratory, , has primary responsibility for fulfilling our strategic goal of "providing robust, accessible, and innovative information services and tools." CISL and other labs, such as the Earth Observing Laboratory, develop data management tools, manage the wide variety of data archives, and fulfill data orders. They also create software to ensure that NCAR data streams connect to and are compatible with research efforts focused on integrating and assimilating into models and stimulating data intercomparisons across different machines, models, and scientific disciplines.

The Community Data Portal
The Community Data Portal (CDP) provides users with a variety of Earth science data sets—oceans, atmosphere, space weather, turbulence—from NCAR and other participating organizations.
EOL's Catalog of Field Expedition Data Sets
The Earth Observing Laboratory archives all data collected through the use of the laboratory’s instruments or data collection systems and makes those data available to scientific users. EOL's Research Data Program facilitates access to all EOL data sets.
