About NCAR Partnerships & Collaboration

NCAR serves the research community as an atmospheric and Earth system research and networking resource and facilitator of education and outreach. Major community activities include providing mentoring and collaborative research opportunities, providing research facilities, applications, and scientific tools, and coordinating large, multi-institutional projects.

NCAR's manager, UCAR, is a consortium of over 70 North American university members and many national and international affiliates who benefit by collaborating on research problems and using facilities that would be difficult to pursue as individual institutions. NCAR is a primary resource in this collaborative effort.

NCAR's research is also of interest to government, military, and commercial organizations with whom we partner or collaborate.
