Climate and Global Dynamics Division
Climate and Global Dynamics Division (CGD) seeks to understand Earth's
climate system and to develop the capability of predicting its evolution
through studies of the climate system's components; atmosphere, oceans,
land surface, sea ice and biogeochemistry, and the development of models
to realistically simulate the Earth system. The models are used to perform
experiments to determine how the climate system might evolve in response
to anthropogenic changes in the environment and to investigate the limits
of predictability of various aspects of the climate system.
