Visual Communications
For more than two decades, the Visual Communications Program has provided NCAR and UCAR produced visuals (slides, photos, videos, and illustrations) and specialized services to the UCAR staff, member and affiliate universities, scientific community, educators, publishers, and the print and electronic media. Access to more than 1,000 images is available on-line on the Digital Media Catalog.
Visual Communications staff also provide photo research services for publications like the recent 1998 UCAR Highlights document. In addition, a stock reel tape entitled, Hurricane Bonnie (MPEGvideo 1.8 MB) (QuickTimemovie 4.4 MB) was added to the lending library in FY 1998.
Visual Communications also provides leadership for UCAR's informal science education activities, exhibits and support and assistance to the museum and educational community in interpreting scientific concepts and activities of public audiences.
